A reader is looking for the owner of a pair of prescription eyeglasses that were found by her husband, in an eyeglass case, lying in the middle of Hartwick Pines Drive.
The frames bear the Izod brand name, and the case is from Walmart-Sam’s Club Optical.

Reader Paul Utes, a Sun City Anthem resident who will soon be coming up on his 10-year SCA anniversary, is considering having an independent home inspection performed to identify any possible defects.
Mr. Utes is very interested in hearing from anyone who has brought in a qualified individual or company to perform a home inspection. If you have done this, he is especially interested in learning the cost of the service, and also if you believe it was worth doing.
And of course, if you had such a home inspection and were satisfied with the person or firm performing the service, he would like to have the contact information for the inspector you recommend.

This is one of the more unusual Neighbors Helping Neighbors articles we’ve published, and it will be interesting to see what results it generates.
A number of readers recently came to the aid of new resident Bonnie Schoen, who sought recommendations for a contractor to build her backyard fence.
Now Bonnie has this request: She and her husband Rick have brought many accessory items with them from their former California home. Bonnie feels that her decorating skills are not as good as she would like, so she’s seeking advice from anyone who has a sense of style when it comes to home decor. If all goes well, the assistance she would receive would most likely be advice on how and where to display her accessories, including where to hang some of them on the walls.
The advice Bonnie wants does not necessarily have to be free, because she is willing to consider a fee-based service from a decorating professional.

SCA resident Richard Wright wants to insulate his garage walls and ceiling.
Mr. Wright has compiled a list of vendors who appear to be capable of doing this type of work, but what he is really looking for is recommendations from readers who have actually had this work done in their garages.

Since moving into their Sun City Anthem home in 2005, Kathleen Karstedt and her husband have never been able to get their gas fireplace to operate.
The pilot light IS working, but other than that the gas will not turn on and nothing else happens.
Thinking this might be an issue that Southwest Gas could look at and diagnose, that company was called. But unfortunately, the gas company said this is the homeowners’ problem to address.
So with cold pre-winter nights upon us, the Karstedts are hoping one or more of our readers has personal experience diagnosing and fixing the problem or can recommend a contractor they personally know deals with this type of troubleshooting and repair.

A reader (and SCA resident) owns a similar clock that dates back to around 1850. Although it has been running well until recently, it is now in need of repair.

Readers: A very nice couple who are leaving Sun City Anthem for family reasons contacted me for help in promoting the moving sale they are having this weekend, as per the poster published below.
I thought this is a worthy subject for attention in my blog, in part because it’s important for you to know that these residents followed the correct procedure for conducting an estate sale or a moving sale. As Association policy requires, they completed an Estate Sale/Moving Sale Request Form and submitted it to the SCA Compliance Manager, who issued authorization in writing.
Looks to me like there may be some bargains to be had.
A reader who is considering coming under the care of a certain doctor has contacted me to see if anyone has had personal experience with this particular physician or the clinic he operates.
The physician is Robert Milne, M.D., and he is head of the Milne Medical Center on Pinto Lane in Las Vegas.
Dr. Milne’s practice, according to his website, provides “integrative medical care combining traditional Western medicine integrated with complementary medical methods.”

A Sun City Anthem resident is requesting suggestions for a contractor to help her correct a problem that occurs when there is heavy rain as we recently experienced.
She has a Cambridge model, and she has experienced water seepage into her bedroom at the corner of her patio during heavy rain.
it appears that the heavy water pouring from the roofline drain at that corner is either (a) bouncing off the surface of the patio and getting into the home through the bottom of the foundation, (b) running from the patio toward the side of the home and seeping in that way, or (3) a combination of both.
