Patsy McCarthy, who in the past has told several falsehoods about me on the Goodman/Arendt forum, claims that she doesn’t read my blog.
Wrong!
Here she is, writing about the Bob Frank cartoon that she found “obscene.” – Better look up the definition of that word, Ms. McCarthy. Never mind, Mr. Arendt is bound to write a 5,000-word essay on the word.
As to the obscene "cartoon" regarding Bob Frank. I was disgusted. This was not funny and was only one attack of many against Bob. It was not meant to accenuate (sic) an article, but to simply be cruel and insulting. Then, let's consider where this trash came from. David wastes a lot of energy hating Bob, for whatever reason. If he used that energy for good or to help our residents, it would be so much better for his blood pressure. Hate is a terrible thing and makes a person the most pitiful of human beings.
Patsy
Why is Ms. McCarthy reading my blog, when she has frequently claimed not to do so?
Anyway, I will answer the question she asks about “hating Bob, for whatever reason.”
I don’t hate Bob, I pity him. And I do dislike him, in case anyone hasn’t noticed.
Is there some reason I should like a liar like Mr. Frank, who formally charged my wife with a criminal offense in the course of her fulfilling her duties on the Board?
Do you understand that, Ms. McCarthy? DO YOU??
Mr. Frank attacks ME every chance he gets, in writing and in public meetings. But at least I am in good company, knowing he has attacked our Boards, our committee members, our volunteers, and many others.
Ms. Goodman recently wrote that people who write critically of others should put themselves into the other person’s shoes once in a while. That’s what Ms. McCarthy should do instead of showing sympathy for a man who has done this community no good.
I don’t write this blog to please Patsy McCarthy, who is not about to wake up tomorrow and decide that I am her new best friend. But I guess it is nice to know that she does read my blog, even if on a selective basis. She should just start telling the truth about it instead of pretending.
Ms. McCarthy also writes that she appreciates the clever cartoons that Dick Arendt uses to illustrate his articles. I imagine she must have complimented him when he used Holocaust images to accompany a criticism of community volunteers.
Did you enjoy those, Ms. McCarthy?
Did they give you a good chuckle?
Should I invite some of our Jewish residents who lost relatives in the concentration camps and were offended by the images to talk to you about their feelings?
Patsy McCarthy get a life you have way to much time on your hands to worry about a funny cartoon! Move to another community in Arizona, or better yet don't read David's blog as YOUR blood pressure may rise!

David, please pay no attention to Patsy McCarthy. As you know, I do read Rana's blog, and it's obvious from everything Patsy has written that she hates you as much as she claims you hate Bob Frank.
You are never going to get fair treatment from her. She is a Rana Goodman toady and that's not going to change. So why bother?
I don't think you'll ever see her appreciating the humor of some the creative humorists such as Jon Stewart, Stephen Colbert or Bill Maher, either.

I personally did not find the cartoon "obscene", I thought it was cute!
I do believe that Mr. Frank needs to be totally honest and forthright about what he did and what he plans on doing. As of this date I have not found him to be open and honest about anything over the past 5 years.
To quote in part an attorney from the McCarthy hearings in the 1950's ... "Mr. Frank Have you no sense of decency, sir; at long last, have you left no sense of decency?"

David, well said.

To Mr. Zipkin. I can promise you Ms. McCarthy has little free time on her hands. She and Carol Seibol (spelling?)head up a group for our elderly ladies called Golden Girls for ladies over 80 and have done so for many years. She also takes care of her elderly mother who is in her late 90s. So just becaue someone might not see eye to eye with David, don't be so quick to boot them from our midst. Many people don't agree but still love this community.

So, LeahJ, you're a friend of Patsy McCarthy? You seem to know a lot about her.
You're a friend of Rana's, too?
Do you have an opinion about Dave being very unhappy with Bob Frank because of what Frank did to Roz?
Should Dave turn the other cheek?
Is Dave justified in working to make sure Frank doesn't get back on the board?

Well hello Mikey, we are getting to be in tune with ech other are we, except you don't seem to remember what I write. I am a member of the Women's Club as is Patsy McCarthy. I have not met her,but her and Ms. Seibol's work with the Golden Girls is well known within the club and is listed in the Spirit each month. I wrote some time ago that I have never met Rana Goodman but I have, on occasion read her forum.
Should David turn the other cheek, He is, as I have said before, a big boy he does not need you, me, or anyone to tell im what to do. A for my opinon of Bob Frank, well, we can all show that on the ballot can't we. I'm sure he knows he won't win, I have no idea whyhe even ran. Maybe he enjoys tormenting our David, if so, it seems to be working.

Here's just another example of hypocrisy on the part of the Arendt/Goodman people, which I forgot to mention before.
Arendt is upset (really?) about the cartoon I published regarding Bob Frank. He thought it was offensive and over the line, as did Patsy McCarthy.
But they have a double standard. Ms. McCarthy thought Arendt's use of cartoons and other images is cute, and she obviously didn't mind that Arendt took my photo from the SCA online address book and distorted it so that it would look offensive when he published it. This was before the cartoon went up here.
As usual, one standard for them and one for everyone else.
