A friend of mine who reads my blog and the Goodman/Arendt message Board asked if I am going to respond to the baiting over there on the subject of a scheduled administrative hearing –not an indictment- involving an action of a Board of Directors majority several years ago to change certain provisions of our governing documents, without a vote of the residents, in order to bring the documents into compliance with changes the State Legislature made in the HOA governing statute, NRS 116.
While the Goodman/Arendt crew suggest that I have not recently reported on the subject because it does not favor my interest to do so, I think most of my readers know me better than that.
When the hearing takes place and an outcome is known, I will report completely and accurately on what transpired, regardless of whether the result pleases or displeases me.
I think my readers understand that they can count on me to give them the full story, separating factual reporting from personal opinion, and clearly delineating the difference if necessary.
David,
this blog has earned a solid reputation for credibility and accurate, professional coverage of sca events and issues.
the other blog has earned its reputation for being loud, angry, bitter, and possessing an utter lack of credibility.
i don't visit the other blog, but from what i read here from those who do, it is an intellectual wasteland. apparently it attracts a following from the lower end of the food chain, which reflects the relentless hate-mongering of its two owners.
and why visit a site which seems to be consistently wrong on many issues. certainly all the corrections to its erroneous blather (whether deliberate or due to ineptitude) that are posted here discredit it in the eyes of many.

Al: An example of "incitement to riot" is the insistence on labeling what the complaint clearly states is an "administrative hearing" as an "indictment." Folks like Ron Johnson and Bob Frank know that it is nothing of the sort. These types of hearings are held on a regular basis and, while not fun to go through, they have never been labeled "indictments." In fact, there was a time in the past when Bob Frank himself was facing the possibility of one of these hearings, and you never saw him calling it an indictment.

Hello; I ran across your blog while surfing to get some info on how much and how many administrative personnel the Sun City Board hires to run the complex. From 1999 to 2005, I owned a 2nd homne in Sun City Henderson and enjoyed our years there; we sold in 2005, when our daughter and husband began having babies in Berkeley, Ca. We now live in another retirement community, Rossmoor, in Walnut Creek. I am trying to get involved in our board activities and have pointed out that we seem to spend a lot of money on administrative salaries; our population here is about 10,000, with 6,500 homes and condominiums. Can you give me some information on this subject or refer me to someone who can help. I belive that we are spending way too much on administrator salaries so it would be helpful to be able to make a comparison between Rossmoor and Sun City Anthem.
Thanks, Dick Hurley

Dick, I don't see this is a topic that is appropriate for the blog, but if you send me a private e-mail with your specific questions, using the "email me" link at the bottom left of the page, I'll see if there's anyone who would want to answer you.
